Job title: Head of Performance Location: London area or Hampshire (remote can discussed if not one of these locations) Who are we recruiting for? Executive Integrity have been exclusively appointed to seek a Head of Performance to join our client who have a ground breaking technology for the shipping industry, the AirWing. Our client are a start up company with huge growth opportunities.


This pivotal role involves taking the current design of the AirWing and leveraging your expertise to enhance its performance significantly. Your contributions will be instrumental in continually improving our product, driving innovation, and ensuring its competitiveness in the market. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of aerodynamics, proficiency in managing Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) processes, strong coding skills, and a solid background in scientific and mathematical principles


What will you be doing? Lead the optimization efforts for the AirWing, leveraging your expertise in aerodynamics to significantly enhance its performance metrics. Assessing and using sensor data both in live sea trials and remote monitoring of the wing to optimise trim and enhance performance Utilising machine learning algorithms, including neural networks and shape optimisation algorithms to utilise large volumes of data for continual improvement of wings performance Utilising machine learning algorithms, including neural networks and shape optimisation algorithms to utilise large volumes of data for continual improvement of wings performance Conduct comprehensive analyses and simulations using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) processes to identify areas for improvement and guide design modifications.


Manage CFD engineers and contractors, providing direction and oversight to ensure the accuracy and effectiveness of simulation processes. Develop and refine scientific ship models and algorithms using coding skills in Python, MATLAB, or similar languages to drive performance enhancements. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to integrate performance improvements seamlessly into the AirWing design, considering manufacturing, operational, and industry-specific requirements.


Are you the ideal candidate? Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. A Ph. D. is a plus.


7-10+ years of experience in aerodynamics, with a focus on performance optimization in complex systems. Sailing experience is highly preferable, with knowledge of the shipping industry considered a plus. Proficiency in CFD processes and experience managing CFD engineers/contractors.


Strong coding background in Python, MATLAB, or similar languages, with the ability to develop and refine scientific models and algorithms. Solid understanding of scientific and mathematical principles, with the ability to apply them to real-world engineering challenges. Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
