About the opportunity:
We are working as the internal recruitment partner for our client, a pioneering VC-backed, UK based robotics software start-up dedicated to transforming how developers and businesses bring robotics to life.
We’re looking for a Platform Engineer to bring expertise and firepower to the backend, working alongside the existing backend engineer. If you have experience working with eCommerce platforms or app stores like Apple or Google Play, this role offers the chance to shape a pioneering robotics platform.
Key responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain a scalable backend infrastructure to support app store deployment
- Work closely with the existing backend engineer to ensure smooth platform growth
- Build and optimise API integrations and cloud-based services (AWS preferred)
- Implement best practices for security, performance, and reliability
- Work in an Agile environment, collaborating with product managers to align technology with business objectives
What we’re looking for:
Essential:
- Experience in backend development, ideally for eCommerce platforms or app stores
- Proficiency in Golang, Java, or C#
- Strong knowledge of API development and cloud services (AWS preferred)
- Understanding of scalability, security, and infrastructure best practices
- Experience working in corporate environments
Desirable:
- Exposure to DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, Docker, Kubernetes
- Experience integrating complex backend systems for high-traffic platforms
- Familiarity with frontend technologies to support collaboration across teams
