Amazon Web Services (AWS) has an immediate opening for a Logistics Specialist. We are currently expanding our Infrastructure Operations team in AWS and are looking for a professional to support inventory management process in warehouse of data center.
Mission of Logistics is to maintain the necessary inventory levels for all Data Center infrastructure teams. Logistics team ensures the right parts are available at the right place and at the right time. Logistics members are responsible for end-to-end handling of IT hardware parts from receiving, storage, allocation to disposition.


Key job responsibilities:



  1. Receiving, stowing and picking, packaging and shipping, sorting and counting of parts

  2. Ensuring inventory accuracy and availability

  3. Coordination with internal customers, vendors and procurement team for optimal inventory level

  4. Storage facility management and administration


A day in the life:

  1. Work on part requests from different technician teams and supply chain stakeholders

  2. Manage courier vendors to deliver or pick up shipments

  3. Stow parts according to requirements and make allocation, pack and dispatch parts for transfer

  4. Review stock level and keep an accurate record for all attributes in inventory systems

  5. Administer warehouse and datahalls to ensure parts stay at the right place

  6. Return faulty parts and dispose obsolete inventory with vendors

  7. 9 to 6 weekday work at data center with technicians as the only Logistics Specialist per site


About the team:

  1. Mission to ensure the right parts are available at the right place and at the right time

  2. Coordination with Supply Chain and logistics vendors daily

  3. Dealing with multiple requests simultaneously to meet the need by date of different customers

  4. Heavy reliance on inventory systems to manage thousands of SKUs

  5. Up to 50% of time spent on manual handling in receiving and stowing

  6. Logistics team members spread among different data centers and occasional cross-site support required


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Associate diploma or equivalent diploma

  2. Work 40 hours/week, and overtime as required


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  1. STEM classes or vocational course curriculum education

  2. Knowledge of computer hardware components and operating systems

  3. Speak, write, and read fluently in English, and have the ability to take direction in English

  4. Experience with Microsoft Office products and applications

  5. Experience managing work and priorities through a ticketing system and coordination with Manager
