We have an opportunity for an experienced Senior Geotechnical Engineer based in Manchester, Leeds, Sheffield, Newcastle, Edinburgh, or Glasgow to support our geotechnical projects in the UK and internationally.


Our team is expanding to meet growing demands in infrastructure (rail, highways, water) and energy sectors (carbon capture & storage, renewable energy, offshore and onshore oil & gas, nuclear).


AtkinsRéalis offers comprehensive ground engineering services with over 325 UK-based professionals, renowned for skills, excellence, and commitment.


Your Purpose:



  • Be a senior geotechnical engineer with proven technical and project management skills, including mentoring junior engineers. Experience in Design and Build environments is preferred.

  • Hold a degree in civil engineering or geology, postgraduate qualification in geotechnics, and chartered status as a civil engineer or geologist.


What you can bring:



  • Degree (MSc or equivalent), chartered status, and experience in a fast-paced engineering consultancy.

  • Project management skills, client relationship experience, and commercial awareness.

  • Proven geotechnical design experience, numerical/analytical skills, and familiarity with software like GeoStudio, Repute, Wallap.

  • Knowledge of CDM Regulations, excellent interpersonal, technical, and report-writing skills, and willingness to travel within the UK and overseas (valid UK driving license required).
