Senior Governance & Assurance Business Partner

This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive and self-starting individual to join our IWR (Insurance, Wealth and Retirement) COO Governance & Assurance (G&A) Business Partnering team. If you are ready to play a key role in our wider G&A Shared Services team and help us support IWR to implement their strategy, safely and at pace, we would love to hear from you!


A bit about the job:


Providing dedicated G&A support to Plan A (one of the ‘Top 8’ IWR Transformation programmes), you will provide proactive and holistic risk and control challenge, guidance, and support helping to secure good customer outcomes, protect the reputation of the business and helping it transform safely. Providing risk support and working collaboratively across the wider G&A team on activities to drive improved risk management.


You will be an individual contributor using knowledge of risk management tools, systems and processes and an understanding of how Governance services the business. You will take a lead role in supporting the project team with their risk management practices and supporting them to identify threats to their control environment. The role holder will also provide SME support on matters of risk and controls using their understanding of the wider regulatory environment. You will use your knowledge to recommend changes in processes and systems, and support more senior professionals in developing appropriate solutions for the business.


Skills and experience we’re looking for:



  • Experience of working with risk management frameworks from either a risk, governance, audit or compliance function

  • Ideally, some knowledge and experience of the IWR COO business and / or supporting strategic change programmes


  • Relationship/stakeholder management skills, including being comfortable challenging others with pragmatism, energy, enthusiasm, and resilience

  • Self-starter and focused with proactive planning and organisational skills and the agility to multitask and meet deadlines

  • Customer centric approach

  • Starting salary circa £70,000 (depending on location, skills, experience, and qualifications)
