Operation Manager, Sort Center - #1691280

Amazon – where builders can build! We’re looking for a smart, customer-obsessed innovator and owner to join our Operations Team.

Manager-I, Operations is responsible for managing a team and facilitating the flow of information across multiple stakeholders to resolve potential issues that impact customer experience and business continuity.

The candidate should have a basic understanding of the logistics space and should be able to communicate clearly in both written and oral forms. She/he should be able to develop process improvements and drive them through completion.

1. Managing a shift, constantly identifying opportunities to improve team performance, and owning associated change management.


2. Developing and referring to performance metrics to drive team performance and business results.


3. Identifying the business impact of trends and making data-backed decisions.


4. Communicating with external customers (Carriers, Vendors/Suppliers) and internal customers (Finance, Ops Excellence, Fulfillment Centers).


5. Escalating problems or variances in information and data to relevant owners and following through on resolutions.


6. Pulling data from databases (using Excel, Access, SQL, or other data management systems) and performing ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed.

• 2+ years of employee and performance management experience.


• Bachelor's degree or equivalent, or 2+ years of Amazon (blue badge/FTE) experience.


• Ability to work a flexible schedule/shift, including weekends, nights, and/or holidays.

• 1+ years of experience with performance metrics, process improvement, or lean techniques.
