This acquisition secures our role as a key supplier to UK defence programmes. Over the next 10 years, our plant and equipment will be modernised, creating new opportunities for our business and colleagues.


Based at our 64-acre site in Sheffield, we are seeking a Trainee Bricklayer. This role involves maintaining and repairing refractory needs, preparing and re-lining ladles and the Electric Arc Furnace to meet melting plans.


Role Responsibilities



  • Prepare ladles to meet production requirements.

  • Cast various lids and heat shields using refractory concrete, spray casting pits and tanks.

  • Refurbish large ingot heads to production standards.

  • Re-line and repair the Electric Arc Furnace periodically.

  • Plan, organise, and deliver quality services.


About You


Full training will be provided; however, the following skills, knowledge, and experience are advantageous:



  • Ability to read and understand bricking diagrams.

  • Good initiative to complete tasks on time with minimal supervision.

  • Awareness of health and safety procedures.

  • Experience with refractory installation techniques.

  • Self-motivated, flexible, and proactive.


Days/Hours of Work


40 hours per week: Monday to Friday, 06:00 - 14:00.
