Based at our 64-acre site in Sheffield, we are seeking a Trainee Bricklayer. This role involves maintaining and repairing refractory needs, preparing and re-lining ladles and the Electric Arc Furnace to meet melting plans.
Role Responsibilities
- Prepare ladles to meet production requirements.
- Cast various lids and heat shields using refractory concrete, spray casting pits and tanks.
- Refurbish large ingot heads to production standards.
- Re-line and repair the Electric Arc Furnace periodically.
- Plan, organise, and deliver quality services.
About You
Full training will be provided; however, the following skills, knowledge, and experience are advantageous:
- Ability to read and understand bricking diagrams.
- Good initiative to complete tasks on time with minimal supervision.
- Awareness of health and safety procedures.
- Experience with refractory installation techniques.
- Self-motivated, flexible, and proactive.
Days/Hours of Work
40 hours per week: Monday to Friday, 06:00 - 14:00.
