Cover Supervisor – Core Subjects – South Sheffield | Elevate Supply

Elevate Supply is delighted to partner with a vibrant and supportive secondary school in South Sheffield to recruit a confident and adaptable Cover Supervisor. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people and is confident delivering lessons across core subjects, including English, Maths, and Science.

This full-time role will begin immediately after the May half term and run through to the end of the autumn term, with strong potential for an extension or progression into a permanent role for the right candidate.

Pay Rate: £90 – £110 per day, depending on experience and qualifications.

The Role

As a Cover Supervisor, you will deliver pre-prepared lessons across KS3 and KS4 in the absence of regular teachers, ensuring students remain engaged and focused in key academic areas. You'll support the school’s efforts to maintain consistency and high standards in core subject learning.

Your Responsibilities

• Supervise and deliver pre-set lessons in English, Maths, and Science
• Manage classroom behaviour and keep students on task
• Support learners with queries related to the lesson content
• Report back to relevant teachers on student engagement and conduct
• Follow school policies and procedures while maintaining a positive classroom climate
• Be a consistent and professional presence across various classes
  
  

What We’re Looking For

• Experience working with young people in a school or similar setting (essential)
• A strong academic background or interest in core subjects
• Confident classroom management and excellent communication skills
• Organised, dependable, and calm under pressure
• A team player with a professional and approachable attitude
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
