Freight Forwarding Operator - Sheffield - £30,000- £35,000 (DOE)

Join our growing team as a Freight Forwarding Operator, where you'll play a key role in the coordination of international and domestic shipments across air, sea, courier, and land freight. This is a full-time, permanent position.

Hours: Monday to Friday,

09:00 - 17:00 (1 hour lunchbreak)Salary: £30,000- £35,000 (DOE)

The Role

As a Freight Forwarding Operator, you will support the full shipment process, ensuring the smooth movement of goods and effective communication with clients and carriers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Shipment Coordination:
    • Assist in booking shipments with carriers (air, sea, courier, and land)
    • Track and monitor cargo movements
    • Communicate shipment status to clients
  • Customer & Supplier Communication:
    • Liaise with customers, agents, suppliers, and freight companies
    • Provide regular updates and resolve any shipping issues
    • Handle inquiries and complaints in a professional manner
  • Billing & Invoicing:
    • Generate customer invoices and process purchase invoices
    • Verify freight charges and coordinate with the accounts team
  • Data Entry & System Management:
    • Input shipment details into freight management systems (e.g., Realm)
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records

What We're Looking For

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple shipments
  • High attention to detail to ensure documentation accuracy
  • Good communication skills to interact effectively with clients and suppliers
  • Basic knowledge of freight terms, Incoterms, and shipping regulations (training provided)
  • Problem-solving mindset for managing unexpected shipment delays or issues
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and familiarity with logistics software
