Graduate Teacher – Cover Supervisor – South Sheffield | Elevate Supply

Elevate Supply is thrilled to be working in partnership with a forward-thinking and inclusive secondary school in South Sheffield to recruit confident and motivated Graduate Teachers to step into rewarding Cover Supervisor roles. This is the perfect opportunity for graduates considering a future in teaching or education to gain vital classroom experience—no QTS required.

This full-time position requires a completed degree, and onboarding will be completed by the May half term for a June start, running until the end of the academic year, with strong potential to continue into September or progress into a teacher training pathway.

Pay Rate: £90 – £110 per day, depending on experience and subject specialism.

The Role

As a Graduate Teacher working as a Cover Supervisor, you will be delivering pre-set lessons across a range of subjects in the absence of the regular teacher. Your job is to keep the classroom on track, support student engagement, and ensure a calm and productive learning environment.

Your Responsibilities

• Supervise and manage classrooms across various subjects
• Deliver pre-prepared lessons and keep pupils engaged and on task
• Support students with queries and low-level learning needs
• Manage classroom behaviour following the school’s behaviour policy
• Provide feedback to teachers on pupil progress and classroom dynamics
• Uphold school values while acting as a positive role model
  
  

What We’re Looking For

• A completed undergraduate degree (any subject – essential)
• A genuine interest in working with young people and pursuing a career in education
• Excellent communication, confidence, and adaptability
• Experience in youth work, tutoring, mentoring, or school settings is desirable
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
• A proactive and professional approach to classroom leadership
