Outwood Grange Academies Trust
Job Description

As Principal of Outwood Academy City, I am really proud to be able to introduce you to our amazing academy. Ofsted tell us that, ‘new leaders have begun to transform the culture of the school’, and there is no better time to join us on our transformative journey. Serving the bustling city of Sheffield, Outwood Academy City has undergone a huge transformation for its 1200 students in the last 18 months, with an innovative curriculum, personalised approach to learning, and excellent pastoral care, that is enabling our young people to realise their vocational, practical, creative and academic abilities.

Our students are a really special group of young people, and they are at the heart of everything we do. Alongside our ambitious curriculum, we have worked hard to create an environment where students feel ‘safe and well-cared for’, and the leadership team plays a key role in implementing and driving forward this culture of kindness, positivity and mutual respect.

You must be an excellent classroom teacher, prepared to be a role-model to both staff and students alike, with an unwavering drive, vision and a commitment to help others achieve. You will need the tenacity and integrity to deliver in challenging circumstances, removing barriers, and communicating a vision that inspires, motivates and enthuses staff, students and the community as a whole. We are passionate about ensuring that every child receives the very best level of education possible, and this passion shines through in all we do.

You will be well supported by an experienced leadership team as we work to raise attainment levels and offer engaging curriculum experiences. The academy benefits from being part of the Outwood Family of Schools and you will be joining an expanding, highly innovative, inspirational and ambitious organisation.

We have won numerous awards as a school and are an IQM Centre of Excellence, which highlights that inclusion at all levels is of paramount importance to us. We are also proud to have been awarded Gold Status by the Carnegie Centre of Excellence for Mental Health Award.

We are also proud to be part of the Outwood Family, a Trust renowned for its commitment to transforming lives and raising standards. If you share our passion for making a real difference in the lives of young people, we would be delighted to welcome you to our team.

Come and take a look at what we offer, and see if you could be a part of our team - #WeAreCity and we are striving for excellence. We love what we do, and we welcome enthusiastic, dedicated and hard-working people, whatever your experience, to join us on our mission.

Visits to the academy are warmly welcomed and encouraged. For further details contact Rebecca Hawkins, Assistant Principal on [email protected]
