Paws to Play

Job Description Part Time Dog Handler & Receptionist Location Sheffield S UH :

Paws to Play is a canine creche, providing day care and socialisation for dogs of all ages, sizes and breeds. We are dog fanatics and we strive to provide the highest level of care for all the animals in our care. We are looking for an experienced dog handler with a passion for dogs, to work with our dedicated team, working in both the creche and on reception from 3pm to 7pm, Monday to Friday plus holiday and sickness cover.

The main aspect of the job is to interact with and supervise groups of dogs, keeping them mentally and physically stimulated, whilst also monitoring their body language for signs of tiredness, stress, anxiety etc. For this reason, please only apply if you have experience of working with groups of dogs other than your own.

Obviously with many dogs comes a lot of mess, so cleaning up dog waste is an essential part of the role!

Part of the job will also involve covering reception, which includes checking dogs in and out, taking payments, taking bookings, answering the phone and replying to emails. You would also be expected to give feedback to clients on their dog's behaviour, so knowledge of breed traits and related behaviours would be advantageous.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with groups of dogs and will be confident and knowledgeable in handling dogs of all sizes, ages and breeds. A qualification in dog or animal behaviour would be beneficial, and good customer service skills are essential.

Please send your CV with a cover letter if you think you fit the above criteria.
