My client is an energy business with exciting growth plans over the next 5 years. They are seeking a motivated individual to join their team.

Their technology is trusted by major organisations across construction, infrastructure, broadcasting, and utilities. As they expand across the UK and internationally, in collaboration with a leading global energy technology company, this is an exciting time to join the business. Due to expansion, they are looking for a Workshop Storesman to support operations in Matlock.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and maintain the R&D site workshop, ensuring a safe operating environment for staff, sub-contractors, and visitors, including general housekeeping activities.

  • Manage waste, including general waste and recycling of metals and electrical components.

  • Control stock of R&D parts, organise goods inwards and outwards, manage logistics of deliveries and collections, and oversee inventory of components required for concept verification.

  • Build prototype electrical panel assemblies, validate designs, and work closely with R&D Engineers to find innovative solutions to engineering challenges.

  • Assist in design work by contributing to early-stage concept development through to serial production design freeze.

  • Arrange for sub-contractors to come to the site to carry out works, coordinating with project timelines and other on-site activities.

  • Work as part of a dynamic, fast-moving team to help deliver programme objectives and support a range of tasks in an agile environment.

Key Skills:

  • Understanding of electrical safety procedures and protocols.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively and report on project progress.

  • Aptitude for diagnosing electrical issues, implementing solutions, and adapting to changing project requirements.

  • Demonstrable practical experience.

  • Excellent team player with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced engineering environment, helping to turn designs into reality.
