We have a fantastic opportunity for a permanent Tree Inspector to join our team in Sheffield. This role is based on site at our Olive Grove Depot (S23GE) and around Sheffield.


This position offers a competitive salary and overtime.


This position is 40 hours per week.


In this role, you will support the Sheffield account by conducting thorough visual tree inspections and addressing safety issues promptly, thus ensuring the safety and vitality of the highway network. Their work will not only enhance public safety but also contribute to the preservation and improvement of the urban environment. By providing accurate reports, responding to queries, and collaborating with local partnerships, the inspector will support the effective management of trees in Sheffield, ultimately benefiting the community and the overall success of the Sheffield account.


What You’ll Do:



  • Conduct visual tree inspections of highway assets and raise works with associated timescales to ensure the safety of the highway network.

  • Provide accurate reports and responses to tree-related queries either remotely or in person.

  • Submit Authority Approval forms and collaborate with partners such as the Sheffield Street Tree Partnership and the Sheffield Tree Wardens.

  • Provide reports in relation to third-party claims.

  • Provide information to assist with Freedom of Information requests.

  • Support Amey colleagues in tree-related matters and offer a professional service to customers.

  • Meet agreed targets and performance standards.

  • Audit works to ensure quality and safety.

  • Promote the improvement of the service we provide.

  • Enhance the awareness of tree-related standards and codes of practice within our organization and our client's business.

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of tree pest and disease developments, national standards relating to trees, and any other advancements in Arboriculture.

  • Maintain vehicles, tools, and equipment in line with company policy.

  • Complete all necessary training for the role.

  • Assist the design team with non-core activities.

  • Justify risk-based decisions taken regarding the management of highway trees.

What You’ll Bring:



  • Minimum of QCF level 3 Arboricultural qualification or working towards.

  • Lantra Professional Tree Inspection and relevant industry experience.

  • Experience in relevant industry
