Technical Consultant (part time) - £450 per day via Umbrella - 4-month contract - Sheffield Hybrid - SCC Flex Contract

We're looking for an experienced Technical Consultant who has have significant expertise in the tech startup ecosystem, particularly in early-stage growth and investment readiness and can provide strategic consultancy to tech start-ups.

Your responsibilities as the Technical Consultant:

• Conduct one-on-one advisory sessions with startup founders to help define, refine, and prioritise strategic objectives.


• 
  MVP Development
  Provide expert input on product development, supporting businesses from concept through to Minimum Viable Product (MVP) creation, including market validation and testing.


• 
  Investment Readiness
  Advise on preparing for investment, where appropriate. This includes support with pitch deck development, funding strategies, and facilitating introductions to potential investors.


• 
  Ecosystem Navigation
  Guide startups in accessing relevant business support programmes, grants, and funding opportunities within the wider innovation ecosystem.


• 
  Stakeholder Introductions
  Utilise your professional network to connect startups with key stakeholders such as investors, mentors, and industry experts who can accelerate their growth.

As a successful Technical Consultant, you will have:

• Experience as a tech startup founder or mentor, supporting MVP development and early growth.


• Strong knowledge of the local/regional tech investment landscape.


• Established network within the South Yorkshire tech and business ecosystem.


• Proven track record as a consultant, mentor, or advisor to startups.


• Solid understanding of business finance, HR, and legal basics.


• Familiarity with equity investment and fundraising.


• Knowledge of supply chains in tech startups.
