Ever felt like your skills are being wasted on bureaucracy and chaos?

This is a chance to step into a tight-knit finance team where the hard work's already been done - the systems are in place, the numbers flow, and the monthly rhythm is dialled in. What they need now is someone calm, capable and collaborative to keep it all ticking over.

You'll be joining as a financial accountant, working 2 days per week (any two between Monday and Thursday) on a flexible, office-based schedule. You'll earn £16,000-£18,000 pro rata - that's £40k-£45k full-time equivalent.

It's on a temporary basis to begin with, but assuming it's a good fit, the view is to go permanent.

The real appeal? The work is structured, predictable and well-supported. The management accounts are practically plug-and-play: once the ledger's in shape, it's a short hop to completed packs. Copy and paste, check your reconciliations, and you're on to the next.

You'll handle the core financial accounting - journals, fixed assets, reconciliations and summaries. There's some exposure to year-end prep, audit queries, grant claims and simple holding company accounts. Nothing scary, just enough variety to keep it interesting.

Costing experience would be a big win. If you've done product or job costing before, there's scope to build that out. But it's not essential.

Culturally, they're protective of the team dynamic - and rightly so. The business is stable, the people are down-to-earth, and most of the finance team work 4 days a week. They want someone who'll slot in well, not throw their weight around.
