Head & Neck Sonographer - Long-Term Locum Contract (Sheffield)
Trident Healthcare are looking for an experienced Head & Neck Sonographer for a long-term locum opportunity in Sheffield for 6-9 month contract.
Location: Sheffield
Pay Rate: £50.00 - £55.00 per hour (dependent on experience)
Working
Hours: Monday - Friday, 9 AM - 5 PM
Contract Length: Long-term locum
Key Responsibilities:
HCPC or CASE-accredited qualification
Minimum of 2 years of experience in head & neck sonography
Strong communication and reporting skills
Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team

Key Responsibilities:
- Head & Neck Ultrasound - Perform high-quality diagnostic scans with precision and accuracy.
- Patient Care & Communication - Provide clear explanations and reassurance throughout procedures.
- Clinical Reporting - Deliver detailed and structured reports to support clinical decision-making.
- Collaboration with Medical Teams - Work closely with radiologists and referring clinicians.
- Compliance & Safety - Ensure adherence to UK ultrasound protocols and patient safety standards.
- Thyroid Ultrasound - Used to assess thyroid nodules, enlargement, cysts, and
- Salivary Gland Imaging - Helps detect stones, infections, tumors, and inflammation in the parotid and submandibular glands.
- Lymph Node Assessment - Evaluates swollen or abnormal lymph nodes, often used in cancer staging.
- Soft Tissue Masses - Identifies cysts, lipomas, abscesses, and tumors in the neck region.
- Vascular Ultrasound - Examines carotid arteries for blockages or abnormalities that may indicate stroke risk.
- Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA) Biopsy Guidance - Assists in targeted biopsies for suspected malignancies.
HCPC or CASE-accredited qualification
