The assistant PWAY/Track technician role is a support role that provides labour and expertise as required to carry out the duties associated with system maintenance. The Assistant Technician works as part of a team performing reactive and planned maintenance, diagnosing faults, carrying out repairs, capturing the data involved with these actions, and performing any other reasonable duties associated with the grade and role.
As part of the Track team, the additional responsibilities will be to enhance one's knowledge of points, rail replacement, rail repair, and components.
Salary: £31,268 to £35,7735
Hours: 40 hours per week (rostered days/afternoons/nights)
Location: Sheffield (S9)

About you
You are a proactive and detail-oriented individual, passionate about railway maintenance. As an Assistant PWAY/Track Technician you excel in a team setting, performing reactive and planned maintenance, diagnosing faults, and carrying out repairs. You meticulously capture and report data, ensuring all tasks are documented and issues addressed promptly.
You enhance your knowledge of points, rail replacement, and repairs, making you a valuable team member. Under the guidance of Supervisors and Lead Technicians, you follow instructions precisely and assist in inspections and data capture. Safety is your priority, and you report concerns through the relevant channels.
You maintain tools and equipment in excellent condition, adhere to stores processes, contribute innovative ideas for improvement and embody our values and behaviours in all that you do.
