Maintenance & Facilities Manager
Location: Sheffield
Salary: £45,000 – £50,000 (Depending on experience)

Are you an experienced Maintenance Manager looking for your next leadership role within a forward-thinking manufacturing business? We’re recruiting on behalf of a well-established engineering company in Sheffield that’s looking for a Maintenance & Facilities Manager to take ownership of all on-site maintenance and facilities functions.
This is a key role in the business where you’ll lead a small team of engineers and technicians, manage external contractors, and be responsible for the ongoing reliability of plant equipment, buildings, and site services. You’ll also drive the company’s preventative maintenance strategy and play a crucial part in minimising downtime across production.
The Role:
As Maintenance & Facilities Manager, your responsibilities will include:
- Leading and developing the site’s maintenance strategy to reduce downtime and improve reliability
- Managing the PPM system and ensuring scheduled tasks are completed on time
- Day-to-day management of the maintenance team and external contractors
- Overseeing both reactive and planned maintenance activities for all site equipment and infrastructure
- Ensuring all works comply with health & safety, environmental, and legal standards
- Conducting root cause analysis for equipment failures and implementing engineering solutions
- Managing departmental budgets and maintenance costs
- Maintaining accurate records including service sheets, technical documentation, and compliance certificates
- Driving a proactive safety culture through toolbox talks and safety initiatives
What We’re Looking For
To be successful in this role, you’ll need:
- NVQ Level 4 / HNC in a relevant engineering discipline or a time-served apprenticeship
- IOSH qualification or similar H&S training
- Previous experience in a Maintenance Management or Supervisory role within manufacturing or engineering
- Strong leadership and organisational skills – able to get the best out of your team
- Experience managing both in-house engineers and external contractors
- A solid understanding of PPM systems and continuous improvement principles
- Excellent communication skills and a solutions-focused mindset
