Planning Manager – Chemicals & Process Industries
Location: Near Sheffield (UK)
The Opportunity
A leading international engineering organisation within the energy and chemicals sector is seeking a Planning Manager to lead a dynamic planning team and drive scheduling excellence across a range of complex chemical and process operations. The company is actively engaged in innovative energy transition projects, including hydrogen, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge developments in the industry.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing planning and scheduling team.
- Oversee full-cycle planning processes to ensure safe, efficient, and cost-effective execution of operations.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure planning activities align with business objectives and project requirements.
- Continuously improve planning systems, tools, and procedures to drive operational performance.
- Promote a strong culture of safety, compliance, continuous improvement, and team development.
Key Requirements
- Extensive planning experience within chemical, petrochemical, refinery, or upper-tier COMAH regulated environments.
- Strong proficiency in planning software tools such as Primavera, SAP, Maximo, or equivalent platforms.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate and influence stakeholders at all organisational levels.
- Proven leadership experience, with a track record of coaching and developing teams.
