The finance function works collaboratively across senior leadership and external partners to achieve these objectives. We are therefore seeking an experienced and motivated Senior Finance Manager to contribute to this dynamic environment.
Description
As Senior Finance Manager - Management Accounts, your responsibilities will include:
Leading the annual budget process and providing guidance to Management Accountants and Finance Officers.
Coordinating financial schedules, ensuring timely and accurate data collection.
Overseeing month-end close activities and key account reconciliations.
Preparing and presenting monthly financial reports to senior management and executive teams, ensuring compliance with financial policies.
Managing non-statutory returns and providing financial data to external stakeholders.
Aligning financial resources with workforce planning and overseeing timely payroll reconciliations.
Monitoring team performance and ensuring adherence to corporate financial policies.
Ensuring compliance with Financial Regulations and promoting best practice in financial management.
Responding to ad-hoc financial enquiries, including Freedom of Information requests.
Leading the development and utilisation of Business Intelligence tools for reporting and system enhancements.
Driving continuous improvement initiatives and reviewing budget-setting methodologies.
Leading, developing, and managing the Management Accounts team, providing clear leadership and performance support.
Acting as deputy to the Management Accountant Lead as required.
Profile
The Ideal Senior Finance Manager Will Be/have
Full membership of a recognised professional accountancy body (CIMA, ACCA, CIPFA or equivalent).
Extensive and recent experience in management accounting within a complex organisation.
Up-to-date knowledge of accounting standards and practical financial management.
Strong IT skills, including advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with large ERP systems.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence senior stakeholders.
Proven ability to build credible relationships with budget holders and senior management.
Commitment to personal and professional development, demonstrating continuous learning.
Strong analytical capabilities and attention to detail.
Experience in leading and managing a finance team.
