OpenShift Administrator (KVM & Container Platform Engineer)

About the Role


We are seeking an experienced OpenShift Administrator to join a high-performing infrastructure and platform engineering team. You will be responsible for managing and optimising KVM-based virtualisation environments and OpenShift container platforms, ensuring high availability, performance, and security across on-prem and hybrid cloud infrastructur

e.This role is suited to someone who enjoys working in complex enterprise environments and collaborating closely with DevOps, development, and operations teams to deliver scalable and resilient platforms.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain KVM virtualisation environments, including provisioning, monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance optimisation of virtual machines
  • Ensure high availability and security of virtualised infrastructure using KVM best practices
  • Deploy, configure, and administer OpenShift clusters across on-prem and hybrid cloud environments
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise OpenShift workloads for performance and reliability
  • Manage OpenShift networking, storage, security, patching, and upgrades
  • Implement monitoring and observability solutions using tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK Stack
  • Analyse system performance and recommend improvements for efficiency and cost optimisation
  • Collaborate with DevOps, development, and operations teams to ensure seamless platform and application integration
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation, infrastructure designs, and operational best practices


Requirements

  • 7+ years of experience in IT infrastructure engineering or platform operations
  • Strong hands-on experience with KVM virtualisation environments
  • Proven experience administering OpenShift clusters (installation, configuration, troubleshooting)
  • Solid understanding of Docker and Kubernetes
  • Strong Linux system administration and shell scripting skills
  • Good understanding of networking, storage, and infrastructure security principles
  • Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
  • Strong problem-solving skills in complex enterprise environments


Desirable Skills

  • Experience with hybrid cloud environ
  • Exposure to automation tools such as Ansible or Terraform
  • Knowledge of enterprise monitoring and observability platforms
  • Experience working in large-scale regulated environments
