- Location: Sheffield Centre, Sheffield (with regular travel to S8 postcode when required)
- Contract: Interim
- Working Pattern: Full-time (37 hours per week)
- Salary: £15.56 per hour PAYE
Join our client in their team as a Project Support Officer for the Gleadless Valley Regeneration Programme. This role is crucial in providing comprehensive administrative and coordination support across various projects within the programme, which is now entering its delivery phase. This high-profile initiative involves significant investment and requires a professional who can efficiently handle governance and project delivery processes in a fast-paced environment.
Day-to-day of the role:
Project and Governance Support:
- Provide administrative support to multiple projects within the regeneration programme.
- Coordinate, service, and minute governance boards and delivery group meetings.
- Prepare, format, and distribute meeting agendas, reports, and papers.
- Maintain accurate records of decisions, actions, and project updates.
- Ensure professional engagement with senior stakeholders, including councillors and programme leaders.
Community Engagement and Communication:
- Monitor and manage a shared programme inbox, responding or directing queries appropriately.
- Liaise with a diverse range of stakeholders including residents, councillors, internal teams, and external partners.
- Support and attend community engagement activities such as local drop-ins.
- Communicate clearly and sensitively with a wide range of audiences.
Administrative and Technical Duties:
- Raise purchase orders and support basic financial administration.
- Organise meetings, including scheduling, logistics, and coordination of attendees.
- Support data collection, tracking, and reporting activities.
- Produce high-quality documentation using Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Contribute to general programme administration to ensure smooth delivery.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong administrative experience in a project, programme, or organisational setting.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Confident minute-taking and experience supporting formal meetings.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse audiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel.
- Ability to work professionally with senior stakeholders.
- Ability to travel regularly to Gleadless Valley.
Desirable Skills & Experience:
- Experience working in a local authority or public sector environment.
- Familiarity with regeneration, housing, or community-focused programmes.
- Experience using creative tools (e.g., Canva) is beneficial but not essential.
- Understanding of governance processes and programme delivery structures.
Working Arrangements:
- Hybrid working model with some flexibility.
- Wednesdays are designated as the main team office day at Howden House.
- Flexibility is available for personal commitments in line with council policy.
Additional Information:
- This is a high-profile programme requiring a proactive, flexible approach.
- While a driving licence is not essential, candidates must be able to travel to site.
