Assistant Accountant

We are searching for an ambitious Assistant Accountant to join a growing finance team based in Sheffield. This is an excellent opportunity for a part-qualified accountant looking to further develop their skills within a commercially focused role, working closely with stakeholders across the business.

The successful candidate will gain exposure to management accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and business partnering, while supporting key decision-making across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts and performance analysis
• Support budget and forecast processes across operational departments
• Complete balance sheet reconciliations and investigate variances
• Produce financial reports and KPI analysis to support business performance
• Partner with operational teams to improve financial understanding and reporting
• Contribute to month-end and year-end accounting activities
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and drive efficiencies

About You

• Part-qualified (AAT, ACCA or CIMA) or actively studying towards a professional qualification
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret large volumes of data
• Advanced Excel skills
• Excellent communication skills and confidence working with stakeholders across the business
• Highly organised with strong attention to detail
• Proactive approach and willingness to take ownership of tasks
• Able to thrive in a fast-moving, operational environment
