ERP Project Manager - #2087112

We're looking for an experienced ERP Project Manager to join an organisation based in Sheffield on an initial 3‑month contract. This role sits at the very early stage of an ERP transformation, where no system has yet been selected, so you will play a key role in shaping the programme from the ground up.This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in greenfield environments, enjoys influencing senior stakeholders, and has a strong background in ERP strategy and selection.

Your new role

• Lead the initial phase of an ERP programme, defining scope, vision, and roadmap
• Engage with business stakeholders to gather and document requirements
• Support and drive the ERP vendor selection process (RFI/RFP, evaluation, due diligence)
• Establish governance structures, timelines, and delivery plans
• Identify risks, dependencies, and mitigation strategies early in the lifecycle
• Work closely with senior leadership to align ERP strategy with business objectives
• Provide recommendations on ERP platforms, architecture, and implementation approach

What you'll need to succeed

• Proven experience delivering ERP programmes in a Project Manager capacity, ideally in a public sector setting
• Strong track record in early-stage ERP (pre-selection / discovery phase)
• Experience running ERP vendor selection processes
• Ability to operate at both strategic and hands-on levels
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
• Experience across finance, operations, HR, payroll systems is desirable
• Familiarity with major ERP platforms (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.) is advantageous
