The Opportunity
An established and award-winning multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy is looking to appoint a Senior Structural Engineer to join its Sheffield office.
This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a varied project portfolio, take technical ownership, and play a key role in mentoring junior staff within a collaborative and supportive environment.
The Role
As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering a wide range of structural design projects across multiple sectors.
This consultancy is a well-respected, multi-disciplinary engineering firm delivering services across structural, civil, geotechnical, and environmental sectors. Known for its collaborative culture and strong pipeline of work, the business offers long-term career progression and a supportive working environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing concrete and steel frame structures, including medium to high-rise buildings
- Working on existing buildings and refurbishment schemes
- Producing and reviewing calculations, drawings, and technical specifications
- Utilizing software such as MasterSeries, SCIA, or Strand7
- Overseeing and guiding CAD Technicians in the production of drawings
- Supporting project delivery from concept through to completion
- Preparing design quotes and technical reports
- Mentoring and checking the work of graduates and junior engineers
- Collaborating with civil, geotechnical, and infrastructure teams
- Attending client meetings and contributing to strong working relationships
About You
- Degree qualified in Civil or Structural Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years’ post-graduate experience
- Working towards or achieved Chartered status (ICE or IStructE)
- Strong experience in hands-on structural design
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
