Elevation Recruitment Group are delighted to be recruiting for a Credit Controller on behalf of a well-established and growing manufacturing business based in Sheffield.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Credit Controller to join a busy finance team on a 6-month fixed-term contract. We're looking for a confident and proactive individual who enjoys building relationships with customers, taking ownership of debt collection activities, and helping to drive continuous improvement across credit control processes.

The Role

As Credit Controller, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of customer accounts, ensuring outstanding debts are collected in a timely manner while maintaining excellent customer relationships.

Alongside the day-to-day credit control duties, you'll also have the opportunity to review existing processes, identify inefficiencies, and suggest improvements that support the wider finance function.

Key Responsibilities

• Proactively chase outstanding debt via telephone, email and written correspondence
• Build and maintain strong relationships with customers to ensure prompt payment
• Investigate and resolve customer queries and disputes relating to invoices
• Monitor customer accounts and review credit limits where required
• Produce aged debt reports and provide regular updates to management
• Reconcile customer accounts and allocate incoming payments
• Work closely with internal departments to resolve issues impacting collections
• Review current credit control processes and identify opportunities for improvement
• Support wider finance activities as required

About You

The successful candidate will be:

• An experienced Credit Controller with a proven track record of debt collection
• Confident speaking with customers and managing difficult conversations professionally
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing their own workload
• Analytical with a keen eye for identifying process improvements
• A strong communicator with excellent relationship-building skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and finance systems
• Positive, proactive and able to hit the ground running
