CRA Consulting

Role: Family Legal Executive (Private Family Law)
Location: Sheffield, South Yorkshire
Salary: £34,000 - £48,000
Contract: Full time, permanent, hybrid

CRA Consulting is proud to be partnering with a progressive and growing legal services provider to recruit a Family Legal Executive for its well-established Family Law team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Chartered Legal Executive (CILEX) who enjoys working with privately funded family clients and is looking to join a firm that combines high-quality work with a genuinely supportive culture. Whether you're newly qualified or bring several years' experience, you'll find excellent opportunities to develop your career within a modern and collaborative environment.

About the Role

You'll take responsibility for a diverse caseload of privately funded family matters, guiding clients through what are often significant and life-changing events with professionalism, empathy and practical legal advice.
One of the key attractions of this role is the firm's established client base. With a steady flow of quality instructions, you'll be able to focus on delivering outstanding legal services rather than spending time on business development or building your own caseload.
Supported by an experienced team, dedicated administrative assistance and modern case management systems, you'll have everything you need to provide an exceptional client experience while continuing to develop your technical expertise.

Your Responsibilities

Your day-to-day duties will include:

  • Managing a caseload of privately funded family law matters from initial enquiry through to conclusion.
  • Advising clients on a range of family issues, providing clear, practical and sensitive legal guidance.
  • Drafting legal documents, court applications, agreements and correspondence.
  • Negotiating settlements and progressing matters efficiently to achieve the best possible outcomes.
  • Preparing files for hearings and liaising with counsel, courts and third parties where required.
  • Maintaining accurate case records and ensuring compliance with internal procedures.
  • Working collaboratively with colleagues to deliver an outstanding client service.
  • Meeting agreed performance and billing objectives.

For more experienced candidates, there will also be opportunities to:

  • Mentor and support junior members of the team.
  • Assist with supervision and technical guidance.
  • Play an active role in the continued growth and development of the department.
About You

We're keen to hear from Chartered Legal Executives who have experience handling privately funded family law matters and are passionate about delivering a high standard of client care.
You'll ideally have:

  • Qualified CILEX status.
  • Experience managing your own privately funded family law caseload.
  • Strong communication, negotiation and relationship-building skills.
  • A compassionate and client-focused approach.
  • Good commercial awareness and experience working towards billing targets.
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills.
  • Confidence using legal case management systems and Microsoft Office.
Salary & Benefits

In return, you'll join an organisation that genuinely invests in its people, offering a competitive salary alongside an excellent benefits package, including:

  • Competitive salary based on experience.
  • Hybrid and flexible working arrangements.
  • Generous annual leave plus bank holidays.
  • Enhanced pension scheme.
  • Annual bonus and incentive programme.
  • Ongoing professional development and funded training.
  • Health and wellbeing support.
  • Access to a comprehensive employee benefits platform.
  • Clear opportunities for long-term career progression.
Why Apply?

If you're looking to join a modern, ambitious firm where you can focus on delivering quality legal advice without the pressure of generating your own work, this is an excellent opportunity. You'll become part of a supportive team that values collaboration, encourages professional development and provides genuine opportunities to progress your career while working on a broad range of privately funded family matters.
