The Role

As a Credit Controller, you will be responsible for managing the collection of outstanding debt, maintaining strong client relationships, and supporting the wider finance function to ensure healthy cash flow across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Proactively manage a portfolio of client accounts to ensure timely payment of invoices.
• Contact clients via telephone, email, and written correspondence regarding outstanding balances.
• Resolve payment queries efficiently and professionally.
• Monitor aged debt reports and take action to reduce overdue accounts.
• Work closely with fee earners and department managers to support debt recovery activities.
• Reconcile customer accounts and investigate discrepancies

Requirements

• Previous experience in a Credit Control position.
• Strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to build positive working relationships with clients and internal stakeholders.
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Experience within a legal or professional services environment would be advantageous but is not essential.
