Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited

Your new company
A leading manufacturing organisation is seeking an experienced Master Scheduler to join its planning team. This is an opportunity to play a central role in driving operational performance by developing effective production plans that support customer service, operational efficiency and continuous improvement. Working within a collaborative environment, you will help align people, materials, equipment and capacity to create achievable schedules and support smooth day-to-day manufacturing operations.

Your new role
As Master Scheduler, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining reliable production schedules that balance demand, capacity and operational priorities. You will plan and sequence production activities across multiple work centres, providing clear visibility of progress and supporting the efficient use of resources throughout the manufacturing operation.

You will work closely with colleagues across the business to provide operational metrics and insights that support forecasting and informed decision-making. The role will also involve leading planning improvements, developing production control processes and identifying opportunities to improve workflow efficiency and resource utilisation.

Alongside your scheduling responsibilities, you will provide day-to-day guidance and support to planning team members, helping to develop capability, consistency and flexibility across planning activities. You will also support the effective management of materials and inventory, helping to reduce excess stock while maintaining operational performance.

What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this Master Scheduler position, you will have proven experience within a manufacturing planning environment and a strong understanding of production processes, workflows and operational priorities. You will be confident using MRP and ERP systems to support planning, reporting and operational decision-making, with exposure to QAD considered advantageous.

Strong analytical and organisational skills are essential, alongside the ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. You will be a proactive problem-solver who can identify issues, recommend practical solutions and help drive continuous improvement.

You will also possess excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, enabling you to work effectively with colleagues at all levels of the organisation. Strong Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel, Word and PowerPoint, will support your ability to analyse data, communicate progress and present operational insights.

What you'll get in return
In return, you will have the opportunity to make a genuine impact within a manufacturing business where planning plays a critical role in operational success. You will receive a competitive salary between £45,000 - £50,000 per annum plus a full company benefits package.

The role will be site based, working Monday to Friday, working 37 hours per week, with the added benefit of a lunchtime finish on Fridays. You will have a genuine opportunity to progress within the business and drive change within a fast paced manufacturing environment.
