Business Development Manager – Commercial Waste

£32,000–£35,000 Basic Salary | Uncapped Commission | OTE £50,000+ | Company Car

We're recruiting for a Business Development Manager to join a growing commercial waste business.

This is a field-based, new business role where you'll be responsible for bringing in new customers and building your own pipeline. You'll be out on the road meeting businesses, speaking with decision-makers and finding opportunities to win new contracts.

The role would suit someone who enjoys the buzz of winning new business and doesn't want to be stuck behind a desk all day. You'll have the freedom to manage your own area, generate your own opportunities and build a strong customer base, with the support of an established business behind you.

The Role

As Business Development Manager, you'll be responsible for generating new business across your territory and managing the sales process from first contact through to signed contract.

You'll be out meeting potential customers, generating your own leads and turning opportunities into new business.

What you'll be doing:

• Generating new business and winning new commercial waste contracts
• Building and managing your own sales pipeline
• Prospecting for new customers through a mixture of self-generated leads, networking, referrals and research
• Booking and attending face-to-face meetings with potential customers
• Speaking with decision-makers and identifying opportunities
• Putting together quotations and proposals
• Negotiating and closing new business
• Managing the sales process from initial contact through to signed agreement
• Working with internal teams to ensure a smooth handover once new business has been secured
• Working towards and exceeding sales targets

About You

We're open to different sales backgrounds, so you don't necessarily need previous experience within commercial waste.

You may currently be working in Business Development, Field Sales, New Business Sales, Territory Sales or another B2B sales role and be looking for your next move.

Experience within waste management, recycling, facilities management, industrial services, logistics, utilities or another service-led B2B environment would be useful, but isn't essential.

We're looking for someone who:

• Has experience in new business or field-based sales
• Is confident approaching and speaking with new customers
• Knows how to build a pipeline and generate their own opportunities
• Has strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Is comfortable managing their own diary and territory
• Is motivated by targets and earning commission
• Has a full UK driving licence
