Your new company
A purpose-driven international organisation dedicated to supporting climate and social action initiatives across the globe. Through innovative partnerships and community-led programmes, they empower individuals and organisations to create meaningful, long-term impact. As the organisation continues to expand internationally, they are seeking an experienced Payroll Lead to ensure the smooth delivery of payroll services across multiple jurisdictions.
This role is fully remote with a requirement to work part-time 20 hours over 5 days per week. This set up is non-negotiable due to business requirements.

Your new role
As Payroll Lead, you will take ownership of global payroll operations, ensuring employees, contractors, and partner organisations are paid accurately, compliantly, and on time. Working closely with Finance, HR, Operations, and external payroll providers, you will play a key role in maintaining payroll excellence whilst supporting the organisation's international growth strategy.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing end-to-end monthly payroll for UK and international employees, contractors, and partner staff.
  • Processing payroll changes including new starters, leavers, and salary amendments.
  • Reconciling payroll and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Ensuring compliance with UK employment legislation, tax regulations, pensions, and international payroll requirements.
  • Maintaining accurate and confidential payroll records.
  • Supporting audits, statutory submissions, and compliance reviews.
  • Driving continuous improvement of payroll systems and automation processes.
  • Coordinating international contractor payments and managing relationships with payroll providers and Employer of Record partners.
  • Acting as the first point of contact for payroll queries and supporting onboarding and offboarding activities.
  • Identifying payroll and compliance risks and ensuring payroll data is managed in accordance with GDPR requirements.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Proven experience managing end-to-end payroll, ideally across both UK and international payroll operations.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll legislation, PAYE, pensions, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience working with payroll systems and driving process improvements.
  • Excellent attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Membership of a recognised payroll body such as CIPP or GPA is highly desirable.

What you'll get in return

  • Fully remote working arrangement.
  • Flexible part-time hours (20 hours per week across five days).
  • Opportunity to contribute to a values-led organisation making a positive global impact.
  • Autonomy to shape and improve payroll processes within a growing international organisation.
  • Collaborative and supportive working environment.
