We are now looking for an Assistant Buyer to join us on a full-time, permanent basis, working 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday.

The Role
As an Assistant Buyer, you will support the purchasing and supply of electrical connection and lighting products, helping to ensure products are available when needed to meet production schedules and customer deadlines.
You will place and progress orders, monitor delivery dates and work closely with suppliers to resolve delays and maintain strong supplier relationships.
Alongside supporting the Buyer, you will maintain accurate purchasing, supplier and product information across company systems, helping to keep prices, lead times and stock levels up to date.
Additionally, you will:
- Review orders to help ensure the correct parts are being used
- Keep relevant teams informed of stock availability or product changes
- Complete works and purchase orders for subcontractors
- Provide progress reports to managers and directors
- Maintain product and supplier knowledge
About You
To be considered as an Assistant Buyer, you will need:
- At least two years' purchasing experience across a variety of commodities
- Experience of negotiating with suppliers
- General knowledge of manufacturing and production procedures
- Excellent networking and communication skills, both face to face and over the phone
- Strong organisational and administrative skills
- At a minimum, A-Levels or equivalent
- A full, valid driving licence (to visit suppliers)
