Financial Accounting and Month-End Support

• Prepare and post month-end journals, including accruals, prepayments and income adjustments.
• Assist in ensuring income and expenditure are recognised in the correct accounting period through appropriate accrual and deferral adjustments.
• Support the allocation and processing of indirect costs in accordance with agreed methodologies.
• Investigate and resolve financial discrepancies, escalating issues where appropriate.

Reconciliations and Financial Control

• Perform regular reconciliations of control accounts and balance sheet accounts.
• Maintain accurate records and supporting schedules for accruals, prepayments, deferred income and accrued income.
• Ensure financial transactions are processed in line with organisational policies and procedures.
• Support the maintenance of robust financial controls and identify areas where processes can be improved.

Reporting and Analysis

• Produce routine financial reports and schedules to support the Finance Manager and wider finance team.
• Assist in preparing financial information and analysis for month-end reporting.
• Gather, analyse and present financial data to support business and finance requirements.
• Maintain reporting templates and ensure information is accurate, complete and delivered within agreed timescales.

Continuous Improvement

• Assist in reviewing financial processes and procedures, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency and accuracy.
• Support finance projects and initiatives as required, including data gathering, analysis and testing activities.
• Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing within the finance team.
