Estimator / Senior Estimator
South Yorkshire | Up to £65,000 + Bonus + Excellent Benefits

Hays Construction are working in partnership with an established and growing regional main contractor to recruit an Estimator or Senior Estimator for their South Yorkshire office.
With a strong reputation across Yorkshire and the Midlands, our client delivers a diverse range of projects within the education, healthcare, commercial and industrial sectors, typically ranging in value up to £15m. Due to continued growth and a healthy pipeline of secured work, they are looking to strengthen their pre-construction team with an experienced estimating professional.


The Role
Working closely with the Pre-Construction and Commercial teams, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive tenders across a variety of new build and refurbishment schemes.


Key responsibilities include:

• Producing detailed cost estimates and tender submissions
• Reviewing drawings, specifications and tender documentation
• Obtaining and analysing subcontractor and supplier quotations
• Identifying project risks and value engineering opportunities
• Attending tender review meetings and client presentations
• Supporting bid strategy and contributing to successful project wins
• Building and maintaining strong relationships with the supply chain

About You

• Previous experience in an Estimator or Senior Estimator role within construction
• Background working for a main contractor
• Experience pricing projects within commercial, healthcare, education or industrial sectors
• Strong commercial awareness and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and estimating software
