Facilities Management Supervisor

• Annual Salary: £19.81 per hour

We are seeking a Facilities Management Supervisor to effectively supervise, plan, organise, and deploy multi-trade employees on repairs, maintenance, servicing, and programmed work to the required industry standards. This role is crucial for ensuring that our services discharge their Health and Safety responsibilities in accordance with the SCC Health and Safety Policy and other relevant legislation, regulations, and good practice.

Day-to-day of the role:

• Supervise multi-trade teams to ensure adherence to health and safety guidelines, legislation, and corporate/service policies, including providing training and ensuring the correct use of protective clothing and equipment.
• Monitor and implement premises policy, procedures, and standards to deliver a cost-effective, customer-focused service that supports the effective use, maintenance, and development of the council’s property facilities.
• Act as a member of the Facilities Management Team and deputise for line managers as required.
• Coordinate staff effectively to meet service needs and ensure high standards, including managing performance, monitoring sickness absence, and providing feedback.
• Produce and present performance monitoring information and ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Supervise compliance and regulatory processes related to electrical or gas servicing or installations, ensuring all necessary certifications and documents are issued.
• Plan work activities with the Technical Service Manager to maintain continuity of work for operational resources, achieving specified timescales and standards.
• Respond to customer enquiries and follow up on requests in line with customer care standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Proven experience in supervising multi-trade teams, preferably in a facilities management or similar environment.
• Strong understanding of health and safety regulations and the ability to enforce these among teams.
• Experience in managing performance and developing team members.
• Knowledge of regulatory compliance processes related to electrical, gas servicing, or installations.
• Excellent organisational and planning skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, capable of maintaining effective relationships with teams, colleagues, and external partners.
• Valid driving license and ability to drive as required by the service.
