Interim Transformation Manager
- Salary: £600 - £800 per day
- Job Type: Full-time, Hybrid
We are seeking an experienced Interim Transformation Manager to lead the Transformation Office and Portfolio Delivery for a significant public sector transformation programme within a large public sector organisation. This role is crucial as we move from the design to the implementation phase of our transformation programme, aimed at enhancing organisational efficiency and sustainability.
Day-to-Day of the Role:
- Lead the Transformation Office: Manage daily operations, strengthen governance, planning, assurance, and delivery discipline across the portfolio. Ensure clear, evidence-based information on delivery confidence, risks, and outcomes is provided to senior leaders.
- Strengthen Organisational Ownership and Oversight: Serve as the senior client-side lead, enhancing oversight of externally provided support and ensuring value and outcomes from commissioned activities.
- Develop the Transformation Roadmap: Align the transformation portfolio with the Medium-Term Financial Strategy, identifying necessary programmes, sequencing, and dependencies.
- Create a Resource and Capability Plan: Assess and map out the capacity and capabilities required to deliver the transformation programme over the next three years.
- Co-design the Future Transformation Office: Develop a sustainable, organisation-led Transformation Office model, establishing required capabilities, structures, and governance.
- Deliver a Sustainable Transition Plan: Develop a roadmap to strengthen internal transformation capabilities, ensuring a smooth transition and sustainable organisational resilience.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven track record of leading large-scale organisational transformation within local government or complex public sector organisations.
- Experience in building and leading Transformation Offices and delivering transformation linked to financial sustainability.
- Strong skills in portfolio management, programme governance, PMO leadership, benefits tracking, and assurance frameworks.
- Ability to work effectively with corporate leadership teams, elected members, and external partners.
- Demonstrated capability in strengthening governance, assurance, benefits realisation, and delivery capabilities.
