B2C Sales Executive - #2143060
UniHomes
Sheffield City Centre (office-based)
Salary: £24,500 plus commission (OTE £35,000)
We're looking for a B2C Sales Executive to join our small telesales team in Sheffield on a permanent basis. UniHomes has grown from a Sheffield start up into a 140 strong business working with students and letting agents in more than 60 cities, and we have ambitious plans for the next few years. This is a role with real scope to shape how we look after our student customers.
Most of your day will be spent on the phone with students who are sorting out utilities and broadband for their shared house, often for the first time. This is a high volume calling role, particularly over the summer, but the conversations themselves are consultative: you'll listen properly, explain how our service works and recommend what genuinely suits the household.
The role is busiest over the summer, but it runs across the full year, so you'll also pick up earlier stage enquiries, follow ups and onboarding. In a team this size your contribution is visible, and there is a clear path to develop as the business grows.
Key responsibilities:
- Making a high volume of outbound calls to students and student households about their utilities and broadband, and taking the time on each one to understand what they need.
- Recommending the package that suits the household, and being straight with them about what it does and does not cover.
- Handling objections and questions with sound knowledge of our service and terms.
- Working towards individual and team targets, with uncapped commission on what you sell.
- Leaving every student better informed than they were at the start of the call, whether or not it ends in a sale.
- Being a calm, knowledgeable point of contact for households juggling housemates, deadlines, and bills.
- Staying with customers through onboarding and contract completion so their setup runs smoothly.
- Keeping our CRM and telephony systems up to date so pipeline and customer records are accurate (we use Salesforce and Vonage, and full training is provided).
- Working with the wider B2C team on campaigns and the other tasks that keep the customer journey running.
- Feeding back what you hear from students so we can keep improving the service and the way we explain it.
- Some experience in sales, telesales, retail or another customer facing role is helpful, but how you treat people matters more than your CV.
- A confident communicator with a warm, friendly, and professional phone manner.
- Able to build rapport quickly and relate to students dealing with shared houses, housemates, broadband, and bills.
- Comfortable with a high call volume and a busy summer, and not put off when the answer is no.
- Organised and accurate, with good attention to detail when recording customer information.
- Excited by the idea of building a career here, not just doing a job.
Working hours
- Monday to Thursday: 9:00 to 5:30
- Friday: 9:00 to 5:00
- One weekend per month, with days off in lieu during the week
- Drinks at 4:30 on Fridays
Why join us?
- A permanent, year round role with the security of a salary and no cap on what you can earn.
- A small team where you are trusted to run your own conversations, in a business with big ambitions.
- Genuine career progression: people in this team have moved into team leader, retentions, and other roles across the business.
- Full training and ongoing coaching, whatever your starting point.
