Sheffield, UK (Hybrid - 2 Days Onsite per Week)

We are looking for a talented Kotlin Developer to join a dynamic Developer Experience (DevX) Standards & Controls team. You'll play a key role in building and enhancing platforms that enable engineering teams and control owners to manage and monitor compliance with software development standards and controls.

This is an excellent opportunity to work on modern, enterprise-scale applications built using Kotlin, Java, APIs, and Microservices, while contributing to innovative proof-of-concept solutions and business-critical platforms.

• Design, develop, and maintain Kotlin and Java-based applications and APIs.
• Build and enhance microservices within a modern cloud-ready architecture.
• Collaborate closely with developers, testers, product owners, and stakeholders.
• Deliver high-quality backend functionality, with occasional front-end contributions.
• Work directly with users and customers to resolve issues and implement feature requests.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to sprint planning and delivery.
• Perform code reviews and support automated testing initiatives.
• Contribute to a CI/CD culture focused on rapid, high-quality software delivery.

• Strong experience with Kotlin, or significant Java development experience with a desire to learn Kotlin.
• Experience in at least two of the following:
  • API Development
  • SQL & Database Technologies
  • HTML / JavaScript
• Strong background designing and developing microservices.
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience working within Agile environments.
• Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, GitHub, or Bitbucket.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Self-motivated, proactive approach with the ability to take ownership of tasks.
• High attention to detail and commitment to code quality.

• Experience working with cloud platforms such as:
  • AWS
  • Microsoft Azure
  • Google Cloud Platform (GCP)

You'll be joining a team responsible for delivering multiple Kotlin and Java-based applications and proof-of-concepts that support software development governance and compliance.
