- Location: Sheffield (Hybrid - minimum 3 days in office)
- Salary: £22.26 per hour PAYE
- Hours: 37 hours per week, Full-time

Join our client in Sheffield as a Governance and Compliance Manager, where you will play a crucial role in supporting the Mayor and Deputy Mayor in the Policing and Reform Directorate. This interim position offers a unique opportunity to ensure effective governance, assurance, and compliance within the policing sector.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Manage the administration of the Deputy Mayor's governance and assurance arrangements.
- Support the decision-making processes, including financial sign-offs.
- Conduct independent reviews of the police complaints process.
- Manage the Independent Custody Visiting Scheme.
- Liaise with the Police and Crime Panel.
- Administer, monitor, and report on risk management arrangements relating to Policing and Crime.
- Provide relevant reports to the Senior Leadership Team and Joint Independent Audit Committee.
- Administer Police Misconduct Panels and Police Appeal Tribunals.
- Manage requests for financial assistance.
- Ensure compliance with statutory information governance requirements, including GDPR and the Freedom of Information Act.
- Maintain the Mayor's Publication Scheme and ensure compliance with the Elected Local Policing Bodies (Specified Information Order).
- Support strong corporate governance and effective decision-making across the Directorate.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in a statutory, regulatory, or governance-led environment.
- Ability to understand, interpret, and apply relevant legislation.
- Excellent organisational and communication skills.
- Strong written communication skills for producing clear, accurate documentation.
- Ability to manage multiple and competing priorities effectively.
- Confidence in working independently and leading others.
- Ability to develop strong working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Sound judgement and the ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure.
- Proactive and detail-focused approach.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of governance and compliance.
- Ability to manage sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
