Reed is delighted to be working in partnership with Sheffield City Council to recruit an experienced Electrical Team Leader for its Corporate Repairs Team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified electrical professional with strong leadership skills to oversee the delivery of responsive repairs, planned maintenance, compliance activities, and minor capital works across a diverse portfolio of corporate buildings.

The successful candidate will be based at Manor Lane Depot and will support key Council facilities, including the Town Hall, libraries, depots, crematoriums, the Medico Legal Centre, and major office accommodation including Moorfoot.

Pay Rate:£19.81 per hour PAYE or £25.79 per hour Umbrella

Department: City Futures – Transport & Facilities Management

As Electrical Team Leader, you will be responsible for leading a team of electricians and multi-skilled operatives, ensuring works are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest standards.

In addition, you will act as the Council's NICEIC Qualified Supervisor (QS), providing technical oversight of electrical installations, inspection and testing activities, and ensuring full compliance with BS 7671 and NICEIC Approved Contractor Scheme requirements.

• Lead, supervise, and motivate a team of electricians and operational staff.
• Plan and coordinate responsive repairs, planned maintenance, and minor electrical projects.
• Ensure compliance with BS 7671 Wiring Regulations, NICEIC standards, and all relevant legislation.
• Manage resources, materials, vehicles, plant, and subcontractors to achieve service objectives.
• Carry out inspections, testing oversight, and quality assurance activities.
• Monitor team performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
• Ensure full compliance with Health & Safety legislation, CDM regulations, and Council procedures.
• Use ICT systems to manage workloads, reporting, and performance monitoring.
• Deliver excellent customer service while maintaining operational efficiency.
• Support the development, training, and performance management of staff.

NVQ Level 3 Electrical Installation (or equivalent)

City & Guilds 2382 (18th Edition Wiring Regulations)

City & Guilds 2391 Inspection & Testing Qualification (or equivalent)

Ability to satisfy NICEIC Qualified Supervisor (QS) requirements

• Significant experience within electrical maintenance, repairs, and installation environments.
• Experience supervising operatives and managing workloads within a maintenance or facilities management setting.
• Strong understanding of:
• Electrical safety legislation
• BS 7671 Wiring Regulations
• NICEIC requirements
• Health & Safety legislation
• CDM Regulations
• Industry best practice
• Experience managing subcontractors and resources.
• Strong IT skills and experience using systems to manage performance and service delivery.
