Pre-Cast Team Leader - #2154499

JOB PURPOSE:
To provide first-line leadership and direction to manufacturing operatives engaged in the production of precast concrete products. The Team Leader will ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and to specification while supporting production targets, quality standards, and workforce development initiatives.

 
JOB RELATED TASKS:
 Ensure all operate safely and challenge none-safe actions and behaviours

Direct leadership of production operatives.

Responsible for daily shift performance and productivity.

Supports achievement of production and quality targets.

Complete pre-cast bed checks against the planned cast sheets and sign off ready for production.

Complete post-cast bed checks ensuing all is in place for concrete curing.

                                                                                                                                 
JOB DUTIES:

Safety

Always promote safe working practices.

Promote safety briefings and monitor attendance.

Be confident to challenge bad practice and offer education to promote a behaviour change.

Ensure that all staff are wearing the correct PPE for the task, professionally challenge any non-compliance.

Escalate all H&S concerns promptly.

Quality

Verify cast products meet required visual standards.

Escalate quality concerns and support corrective actions.

Ensure that all concrete mix issues are reported to the Technical Lead and Precast Supervisor.

Ensure that product cast is correct to the required product standard.

Production Operations

Ensure that housekeeping is at a high standard in all operational areas relating to precast.

Coordinate daily work activities and allocate resources.

Monitor production performance and progress against targets.

Ensure efficient workflow throughout the manufacturing process.

Ensure that mould set up is correct ensuring all soffit plates are secure.

Leadership

Provide coaching and support to production operatives.

Assist with on-the-job training of new starters.

Demonstrate a positive attitude to development and coaching.

Be the first line of support for any welfare concerns.

Communication

Communicate with all team members, professionally and promptly.

Report operational issues, delays, and improvements.

Liaise with Supervisors, Safety, Quality, and Maintenance personnel.

      
BACKGROUND/EXPERIENCE:
Essential

• Be fully competent in the multi-skilled operative for precast role.
• Experience leading teams in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to motivate and develop employees.

Desirable

• Experience within precast concrete manufacturing.
• Understanding of pre-stressed concrete production processes.
• Knowledge of quality management systems.
