Job Title: Personal Injury Litigator - Intermediate Track EL/PL
Salary: £45,000 to £55,000
Location: Sheffield - Office Based
Contract: Permanent - Full-Time or Part-Time Considered

Working Hours

The firm can offer a choice of working patterns:

• 8.00am to 4.00pm
• 9.00am to 5.00pm
• 10.00am to 6.00pm
• Part-time hours will also be considered

The Opportunity
CRA Consulting is working with a large and well-established law firm in Sheffield to recruit an experienced Personal Injury Litigator for its growing Intermediate Track team.
This is an excellent opportunity for somebody with a strong background in Employers' Liability and Public Liability claims who is confident managing their own caseload and wants to develop further within the increasingly important Intermediate Track area.

The Role
You will manage a busy caseload of Intermediate Track Personal Injury claims, with a particular focus on:

• Employers' Liability claims
• Public Liability claims
• Occupiers' Liability matters
• Complex liability disputes
• Multi-injury claims
• Claims involving more substantial medical evidence
• Cases requiring detailed assessment of quantum and financial losses

You will take responsibility for progressing matters from initial investigation through to settlement or litigation.
Your duties will include:

• Investigating liability and quantum
• Reviewing medical reports and supporting evidence
• Advising clients throughout the claim
• Drafting schedules of loss and legal documentation
• Working within the relevant Pre-Action Protocols
• Applying the Civil Procedure Rules and Intermediate Track requirements
• Negotiating settlements with defendants and insurers
• Issuing and progressing court proceedings where appropriate
• Liaising with medical experts, counsel and other third parties
• Maintaining strong standards of compliance, file management and client care

The firm is looking for somebody who can investigate claims thoroughly, make sensible commercial decisions and achieve the best possible outcome for each client.

The Candidate
You may currently be working as a:

• Personal Injury Solicitor
• Chartered Legal Executive
• Litigation Executive
• EL/PL Litigator
• Personal Injury Fee Earner
• Claims Handler with litigation experience

Applications are welcomed from qualified and experienced non-qualified litigators.
The successful candidate will ideally have:

• Experience managing a Personal Injury caseload
• Strong Employers' Liability and Public Liability experience
• Exposure to Intermediate Track or more complex claims
• Good knowledge of the Civil Procedure Rules
• An understanding of the relevant Pre-Action Protocols
• Strong liability and quantum investigation skills
• Experience negotiating settlements
• The ability to progress litigated matters
• Excellent client communication and organisational skills
• The confidence to work independently as part of a wider team
