Part time Finance Manager - #2155895

A well established and growing Sheffield based business is looking to appoint an experienced Part time Finance Manager to take ownership of its finance function and provide clear, commercially focussed financial insight to the senior management team.

This is a genuinely broad role for someone who enjoys being close to the detail but can also step back and understand the bigger commercial picture. Reporting into the COO, you’ll have ownership across the day-to-day finance function, while playing an important role in supporting the wider business as it continues to develop and grow.

The role

You’ll take responsibility for the preparation of monthly management accounts, budgeting, forecasting and cash flow, alongside maintaining strong financial controls across the business.

There is also a strong commercial element to the position. You’ll work closely with the CEO, COO and senior managers, providing analysis around profitability, margins, costs and performance, as well as helping the wider business understand the financial impact of operational and commercial decisions.

The role will also oversee transactional finance activity, including purchase and sales ledger, credit control, bank reconciliations and balance sheet controls, alongside responsibility for VAT, year-end accounts and liaison with external accountants and advisers.

As the business continues to develop existing services and explore new opportunities, you’ll also have the opportunity to support financial modelling, business cases, new contracts and investment decisions.

What we're looking for

We’re looking for someone with strong management accounting or financial management experience who is comfortable taking ownership rather than simply producing accounts.

ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent would be desirable, although suitably experienced qualified-by-experience candidates will also be considered.

Most importantly, you’ll be commercially minded, hands-on and confident communicating financial information to non-finance stakeholders.
