Senior Electrical Engineer - R&D

A leading clean energy technology business is continuing to grow its R&D team and is looking for an experienced Electrical Engineer to contribute to the development of next-generation energy systems.

This is an opportunity to join a technically driven R&D environment where you will work across electrical systems, engineering development and technology integration, helping take innovative concepts from development through towards commercial deployment.

About the role

You will take a leading technical role within electrical engineering, contributing to the development and validation of complex energy systems.

The role will involve working closely with engineers across multiple disciplines, including mechanical, controls and systems engineering, while taking ownership of electrical engineering challenges from first principles.

Requirements

• Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics or a related discipline. A highly academic background, PhD or equivalent experience would be advantageous.
• Strong electrical engineering knowledge from first principles, with the ability to act as a technical authority.
• Experience working with LV, MV and/or HV power systems.
• Good understanding of mechanical and controls engineering principles.
• Experience working within an R&D, product development or advanced engineering environment.
• Knowledge of relevant engineering standards, regulations and directives.
• Ability to independently lead technical projects and R&D activities.
• Comfortable presenting engineering concepts and technical proposals to both engineering and non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across multidisciplinary teams.
• Experience within hydrogen, fuel cells, energy storage or other clean energy technologies would be advantageous.
• CEng status or working towards chartership would be desirable.
