We are looking for a confident, compassionate & committed Social Worker to join our team at Cygnet Hospital Sheffieldon our Low Secure Adult ward.
Joining us on a full time, 40 hour per week basis, you will work across 5 days.

Purpose of the role
The Inpatient Social Worker provides specialist psychosocial assessment, safeguarding leadership, and systemic support to young people admitted to the inpatient unit.
The post holder acts as a key link between the ward and external agencies, supporting safe discharge planning and promoting the welfare of young people in line with statutory responsibilities.

Cygnet Hospital Sheffield offers general adolescent and intensive support CAMHS services for male and female adolescents over three distinct wards.
Spencer Ward:
Spencer Ward at Cygnet Hospital Sheffield is a 15 bed in patient service providing assessment and treatment for women with mental disorders. Treatment is aimed at identification and management of needs rather than just a particular diagnosis.

Job Summary:
- To hold a caseload at site, managing all social care requirements for your allocated service users
- To work in collaboration with other members of the Multi-Disciplinary team and other associated community professionals to deliver a comprehensive and joined up plan for treatment and support of all service users
- To assist and support social work assistants with managerial and clinical supervision
- To ensure continued registration as a Social Worker under Social Work England – ensuring continuous practise development and ensuring all relevant fees are paid
Key Responsibilities:
- To assist in ensuring the Company’s policies and procedures are implemented and carried out within the Social Work department
- To hold and be responsible for managing a ward caseload, ensuring individual Service Users receive appropriate therapeutic care and support in accordance with their social care needs, including those service users who may have committed serious offences such as homicide, arson, violent or sexual assaults against adults and children
- To assist with multi-disciplinary assessments of service users through referral to discharge
- To refer and support Service Users with assessment under the Care Act 2014 and for support under Section 117 of the Mental Health Act 1983
- To support Family/Carers using appropriate assessments and to deliver advise, guidance
and information; ensuring the Triangle of Care principles are used as appropriate at your service - To attend all statutory and mandatory training as required
You are…
- A Registered Social Worker with Social Work England
- A relevant Social Work qualification
- Experienced in working within a mental health setting, or passionate about working in this field
- Knowledgeable of safeguarding, health & safety, data protection, confidentiality issues & equality & diversity
- An excellent communicator with exceptional interpersonal skills
- Able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Skilled in report writing with excellent literacy skills and attention to detail
