Project Manager - SHEFFIELD - #2165301

Synechron is looking for a Project Manager to provide delivery governance, coordination, and reporting across a technology platform team for a global well know bank. Acting as a central point of accountability, you will ensure delivery plans remain on track, risks are managed proactively, and stakeholders have clear visibility of programme progress.

The project focuses on the delivery of a next-generation enterprise application hosting platform that will become the strategic foundation for the majority of the organisation's business applications over the coming years. This is a high-profile initiative at the heart of the banks technology strategy, offering the opportunity to work within a large-scale engineering and platform environment, supporting complex delivery programmes with global reach and impact.

Role:

• Managing project plans, milestones, dependencies, and delivery actions
• Driving governance forums, action tracking, and programme reporting
• Producing executive dashboards and status reports highlighting progress, risks, issues, and key decisions
• Owning RAID management and escalating critical risks and blockers
• Coordinating cross-functional teams to ensure successful delivery outcomes
• Driving continuous improvement initiatives and delivery best practices
• Supporting hiring, onboarding, and workforce planning activities where required
• Providing leadership teams with meaningful insights into delivery performance and organisational readiness.

Experience:

• Proven Project Management experience within technology, software delivery, platform engineering, infrastructure, or transformation programmes (ideally within financials services)
• Strong delivery governance, reporting, and stakeholder management skills
• Experience managing complex dependencies across multiple teams and workstreams
• Demonstrable success driving accountability and influencing stakeholders without direct authority
• Strong understanding of Agile, Scrum, Kanban, and hybrid delivery methodologies
• Experience supporting senior leadership with executive reporting and governance materials
• Strong analytical skills with experience producing KPI, KRI, and delivery health dashboards
• Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, Excel, Power BI, and reporting tools
• Good understanding of SDLC, release management, change management, CI/CD, and DevOps practices
• Experience working closely with engineering, architecture, and product teams
• Ability to identify delivery risks early, develop mitigation plans, and drive issues through to resolution
• Previous experience supporting recruitment, onboarding, resource planning, or team growth activities would be advantageous.

This is a long term rolling contract - x3 days as week in SHEFFIELD office - Strong market rates inside IR35
