Temporary Management Accountant - #2166580

We are supporting the search for a Temporary Management
Accountant to provide essential support to a Finance function,
based in Sheffield. This role would suit an experienced
Management Accountant with strong technical accounting knowledge,
advanced Excel skills and the ability to take ownership of key
financial processes.

Working closely with the Financial Controller and colleagues
across Finance, Sales and Operations, you will be responsible for
the preparation of management accounts, financial reporting and
reconciliations, alongside supporting audit requirements and
tax-related activities.

Key Responsibilities:

* Take ownership of group management accounts, including
accruals, prepayments, month-end closing and control processes,
with supporting financial commentary.
* Prepare board packs accurately and within agreed timescales,
alongside reviewing profit and loss analysis reports.
* Complete balance sheet reconciliations, including stock
reconciliations, ensuring financial records are accurate and up
to date.
* Respond to audit queries and prepare quarterly VAT returns,
working with external auditors and advisers where required.
* Manage performance-related pay calculations, ensuring figures
are accurate and completed on time.

The Ideal Candidate:

* Previous experience in a Management Accountant role, including
responsibility for preparing accounts from trial balance through
to profit and loss.
* Strong technical accounting knowledge and a sound understanding
of standard accounting practices, supported by practical examples
of previous work.
* Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups and
SUMIF functions.
* Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to work
independently, prioritise a demanding workload and meet tight
deadlines.
* Clear communication skills and the ability to build effective
working relationships across Finance and other departments.

A recognised accountancy qualification would be advantageous,
although candidates with strong relevant experience will also be
considered. Experience in team management, alongside knowledge of
Corporation Tax, VAT and employment taxes, would be beneficial.
