You should be able to manage design tasks independently while communicating effectively with project teams, clients, suppliers and site personnel.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

  • A degree, HNC or HND in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Detailed electrical design experience.
  • Experience designing electrical systems for industrial, utilities, water or infrastructure projects.
  • Knowledge of power distribution, motor control, electrical protection and equipment selection.
  • Ability to produce and interpret electrical schematics, single-line diagrams and cable schedules.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, AutoCAD Electrical or similar design software.
  • Knowledge of electrical calculations, including cable sizing, load calculations and voltage drop.
  • Understanding of relevant electrical standards, regulations and health and safety requirements, including CDM.
  • Familiarity with motor control centres, switchgear, control panels and industrial electrical equipment.
  • Good communication, technical reporting and problem-solving skills.
  • A practical understanding of installation, testing and commissioning on site.
  • A full UK driving licence.

About the Projects

You will work on water and wastewater infrastructure projects, including treatment plants, pumping stations and process facilities.

Your designs will support the electrical systems that power pumps, motors and other plant equipment, helping ensure that water treatment and distribution processes operate safely and reliably.

The role covers the full project lifecycle, from initial design and calculations through to installation, testing, commissioning and handover.

You will collaborate with mechanical, civil and instrumentation, control and automation (ICA) engineers to deliver coordinated engineering solutions that meet project requirements and industry standards.
