A well-established organisation based in Sheffield is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable / Finance Officer to provide immediate support to the finance team during a busy period. This is an excellent opportunity for a finance professional who can hit the ground running and support key transactional finance processes from day one.
Your new role
Reporting into the Finance Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the day-to-day financial operations of the business. The position will focus primarily on accounts payable activities whilst also assisting with wider finance administration and transactional accounting tasks.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Processing high volumes of supplier invoices accurately and efficiently
- Matching, batching and coding invoices
- Managing supplier statement reconciliations
- Investigating and resolving invoice and payment queries
- Preparing weekly payment runs
- Supporting month-end processes and reconciliation activities
- Maintaining accurate financial records and supplier data
- Assisting with expenses processing and general finance administration
- Liaising with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to ensure timely resolution of queries
What you'll need to succeed
- Previous experience within an Accounts Payable, Purchase Ledger or Finance Officer position
- Strong attention to detail and high levels of accuracy
- Good communication skills and the ability to build relationships with suppliers and colleagues
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and finance systems
- Ability to manage workload effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Available to start immediately or at short notice
